Dental Implants

Dental implant is an artificial root replacement (made of medical grade titanium) used in prosthetic dentistry for missing teeth without sacrificing other teeth. Implant is the next best thing to your natural teeth.Unlike a traditional plate or bridge, dental implants are actually anchored to your jaw. After integration with the jawbone, the crown, bridge or denture is then attached to the implants. This provides much greater stability for more effective eating, speaking and smiling!

Impacted Wisdom Tooth Removal

An “impacted” tooth is one that is stuck in the bone and cannot fit or come into the mouth properly. Impacted third molars are a frequent occurrence in teens and young adults. Sometimes they start to come into the mouth but the mouth is not big enough to hold another tooth. They do not completely erupt, remain partially under the gum, and are easy targets for infection. If the tooth is hopelessly submerged and there is no room for it to erupt normally, the tooth should be extracted. Extraction of impacted wisdom teeth is typically preformed by oral and maxillofacial surgeons.

Sinus Lifting

A sinus-lift procedure is a surgical procedure, performed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, to augment bone mass in the top jaw (maxilla), which increases the likelihood of successful placement of dental implants. Bone from another part of the body, such as the iliac crest, or artificial bone grafting material is grafted into the bone below the floor of the maxillary sinus. In the upper jaw the amount of bone is reduced by the presence of the sinus. A number of techniques are used to increase the bone height.

Orthognathic Surgery

Orthognathic surgery is surgery to correct conditions of the jaw and face related to structure, growth, TMJ disorders or to correct orthodontic problems that cannot be easily treated with braces. It is also used in treatment of congenital conditions like cleft palate. Bones can be cut and re-aligned, held in place with either screws or plates and screws.
